Which is the only nation that landed on the moon yet was magnanimous enough to not claim it? 🙋🏼‍♀️🇺🇸 . What an awesome kit from LEGO, one of the neatest I’ve had a chance to build. What makes it so nice? Well, simplicity for one, it’s not a hard build at all. And it’s quite solid, you can pick it up and play with it, it won’t fall apart. It’s also modular and is built to be easy to split into different stages and for walls to be removed to get inside. Finally, the details are amazing, from the colors to the instruments and the opening panels that reveal camera $ reflector. This is just a great build to share with a loved one, plus the history! No, this isn’t an ad, I have zero relationship with LEGO other than as a fan, ha! .

Finished @lego Apollo 11 Lunar Module, just in time for today’s 50th anniversary! . The ascent stage of the LM has its own engine to return the astronauts from the surface of the moon back to the Command Module in space, which is the. used to re-enter the earth. Since the ascent stage is no longer needed after that rendezvous it is usually jettisoned and crashed into the moon or burns up in earth’s atmosphere. The ascent stage of the LM is nice to have around, it served as the lifeboat for the astronauts of Apollo 13 when they had their major incident. Without it they would have never made it back safely! .

Completed the descent stage of the @lego Apollo 11 Lunar Module! . The descent stage of the LM not only helped the astronauts safely land on the moon but also served as a launch pad for their return to the Command and Service Module (CSM) orbiting in space. Being left behind as the ascent stage disconnected and flew off, several of these descent stages are still intact on the surface of the moon today! Interestingly, Grumman had originally designed it to have three to save weight but that was found to be too unstable... they then switched to the most stable layout for unknown terrain which had five but this was too heavy for the trip. So they compromised to having four . .

Not enough AK content lately so I’ve dug up and dusted off some of the ones I own and borrowed a few more from the shop. @wepleadthe2nd cerakotes a ton of AKs and AK accessories for well-known industry companies so I’ve got some neat examples to show you. Our shooting team seems to be all about AK-style shotguns lately too, perhaps I can locate one of those as well... . @arsenal.inc @centuryarms @leearmory @kalashnikovusa

Current state of the DD Mach 18... While searching the gunroom for a certain spare part for a friend, I stumbled across a spare LMT SOPMOD, a BCM charging handle, some KAC rail covers, and an AFG, score! I think the result is a nice classic sort of look given the older quad rail, and it feels balanced with the short SF can. Might park a laser on it and call it done. .

Started the @lego NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander, the mission left for the Moon 50 years ago today! 🤩🚀 . So part one of the kit is done, you could call it the Tranquility Base portion. Neat fact: the landing zone was known as Tranquility Sea and as soon as our craft landed they communicated back to earth with the new callsign “Tranquility Base”, man’s first outpost on the Moon! This kit is amazing in terms of the details plus the major milestone it represents, there are so many interesting events going on for the this week. .

So that we might enjoy a delicious here, our military men & women might be eating something like this elsewhere. 🙏🏻🇺🇸 . A 2013 MRE, part of an “emergency food” stash that was getting too old to keep around. I have no idea why it came when peanut butter and blackberry jam when it didn’t come when crackers or wheat bread! Plus, it included BBQ sauce but the meat was already taco-flavored, that would be a strange mix, bleh. This meal definitely was a weird set of items, the “cheese filled crackers” were the best part, just like classic Combos. Luckily the military updated this meal a year or two later and it now comes with Santa Fe rice and beans, cheddar cheese spread, and trail mix. It’s always good to keep in mind our armed service members and some of what they might have to deal with to secure our way of life. . 🇺🇸

What TV series this is from? I’m playing it by ear so it’s an approximation. 👂🏻🎶 .

Got a ton of questions / interest about my shoes as seen in last few Barrett posts. They are from @altamaboots and I’ve had them for more than a year, more than one pair. Been holding up great and I love that they come in smaller girl sizes as well. .

Tagging 1000y steel with my new Barrett MRAD in .338LM, big blast but I’ve got it handled. 😎👊🏻 . Notice that I have no problem staying on the scope and can easily see my own impacts downrange. Here I’m using 285gr ELDs with 7.1 mils elevation to get there, just held the left edge of steel plate for wind... this round really doesn’t get pushed around much and moves sooo fast. Scope is an amazing Tangent Theta and I’m running a rear Accu-Shot monopod for the first time, where has that been all my life! . @barrettfirearms @tangent_theta_inc @btindllc @hornadymfg @azcowtownrange
