Qualities of a great teammate day #4: Great teammates bring out the best in others and completely believe in their fellow team members. They know their teammates strengths and position them to succeed. This total trust allows their teammates to perform with tremendous confidence.
Care Passionately: Great teammates are incredibly supportive. They are excited for your success and they always have your back during times of struggle. The best teammates never let their individual performance effect their attitudes.
Sacrifice your Ego: The ultimate teammates set aside their personal agendas sacrificing themselves for the good of the team. They accept their role and work towards becoming a star in that role. .. Tryouts for the 2019-2020 club volleyball season are starting to wrap up here in Colorado. Question: Would you rather be on a team that works well together and experiences great levels of success on the court by contributing in whatever way you can? Or would you rather stay singularly focused on the position that you think is best for you and only contribute in that roll with mediocre team success?
Winner Wednesday off 10 days of what makes a great teammate! ... Day #1 LEAD BY EXAMPLE The best teammates establish winning cultures through their own character, commitment, and work ethic. They lead with tremendous effort in all situations as they set the example for their teammates to follow! 💯🏐
“It is the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen” -John Wooden
The Growth Mindset In games and practice is it’s NOT about: -Being Good - but GETTING BETTER -Proving - but IMPROVING -Demonstrating skills - but DEVELOPING skills -Performing better than others - but PERFORMING better than you did in the past 🏐💯
Happy Sunday!☀️💯 Wow what a fun week this has been! It’s Club Volleyball tryout season and I’ve had the opportunity to meet and work with dozens of talented volleyball players the last few evenings. It’s easy to focus only on the skills that they show on the court, but what gets my attention as a coach is the focus players have on the details of seemingly insignificance. My job as a coach is to take them from where they are and grow and develop them into what they can be. Without characteristics that require zero talent it will be difficult for them to see their full potential. Not only in Volleyball but in life. Little things added up consistently over time create big results! ✅
Grateful and honored to have the opportunity to coach so many awesome athletes, and get to know the parents that make it all happen!💯🏐👍
Wednesday Wisdom a few hours early!🤣
Happy Tryout Season! With the Junior National Championships wrapping up many Clubs will be recruiting and holding tryouts for next Club Season in the coming weeks. ... Whether you will be trying out for a club team or preparing for High School tryouts, the same principles apply. ... Make sure you put your best foot forward and show the coaches what they can expect from you if you are chosen for their team. ... Smile, be aggressive, be kind to the other athletes, hustle and be a hard worker, introduce yourself to the coaches, be loud so you can be heard, stay positive, and make eye contact with the coaches. ... It’s often your attitude and work ethic that coaches are looking for more than if you executed a thundering in the hitting line. ... Remember great teams are made up of players that play well together, not teams made up of only good players. 💯✅

My thoughts on Coaching: - Teach the Game -Develop Strong Leaders -Make Training Game like -Invest in my own development -Put athletes at the center -It’s not about you -Expect 100% effort -Keep it Fun
Happy Friday! “A player who makes a team great is more valuable than a great player. Losing yourself in the group, for the good of the group, that’s teamwork” - John Wooden
