CRAFTSMAN FEATURE: Clayton Dunham of Busy Beaver's Woodworks! He and his gorgeous craftsmanship will be with us for Third Saturday, Gulfport Art & Gallery Walk! He has an array of beautifully polished bowls and decorative boxes to bring some natural style into your home! Check out some of these photos! "My name is Clayton Dunham, I was born in Middletown, Connecticut in 1963. When I was about five years old, I was hanging around my grandfather's shop and I found a Barlow pocket knife. I walked behind his garage and found a stick and carved a canoe with two paddles. That's where it began - the love of working with wood. At first, I hand carved hand carvings for a couple of decades. As I got older and got a job and worked very hard at my job, I didn't have time for much woodworking but always thought about it and in the meantime I would try to do things and then I started doing furniture, pallet art, etc. Then I found a wood lathe in my old shed that I had bought several years ago and forgotten still in the box unplugged. I brought it out mounted it to a table in my workshop and started making bowls. I now challenge myself to make different things with my wood lathe. I'm think I'm getting a little obsessed with using it. Now, I make lamps, pedestals, and vases. I also do other things custom - whatever you want, I probably can make it. Now that I'm retired, I have time to make wooden things. I really enjoy it! I kind of lose track of time. I walk in my shop and then all of a sudden I look up and it's dark and I don't know how long I've been there. I just love working with wood." Once you see his booth, you'll see his love of woodworking and craftsmanship! He is so skilled at what he does! He will be here for our Third Saturday, July 20th from 6pm to 10pm! Don't miss out! #WeLiveHere
