"God used key people at UM to show me who He was, and the undeniably undeserving crazy love He had/has for me [...] He used fantastic professors to pour into my life and push me. He has shaped me, molded me, and has been continually growing me into the man that He has called me to be." - recent UM graduate @micah_steadham⠀ ⠀ photo cred: @reflectinghopephotography⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #UMRamily

Mother of 5 and 4th year UM student Maranda Kirk was one of the elite 13 chosen to receive the Alpha Sigma Lbda Honor Society scholarship. Congratulations, Maranda! Students from 78 colleges and universities applied; only UM and one other university had more than one winner. Here's what Maranda has to say: "The University of Mobile has given me a renewed sense of self worth and a confidence that I have never had. I admit I was nervous being an student, but also so excited about the prospect of having a second chance with my education. Each time I return to cpus, I feel hopeful and inspired, and I hope to someday have my own daughters follow in my footsteps and enroll at UM. It was certainly one of the very best decisions I have ever made and I incredibly thankful for the opportunities I have been blessed with." - Maranda Kirk, UM Organizational Leadership student and hopeful future UM grad student
