#onthisday 50 years ago, U.S. astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin β€œBuzz” Aldrin became the first humans to ever set foot on the moon during the Apollo 11 mission. An estimated 530 million people worldwide watched Armstrong take his first steps, saying to his audience, β€œThat’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” The first picture shows Aldrin saluting the American flag on the lunar surface, and the second shows the plaque that stayed behind on the lunar module when Armstrong and Aldrin left the moon. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

#onthisday , narrowly survived the β€˜β€™ bomb plot to assassinate him. Perhaps the most remarkable find during my research for was this handwritten , which showed 1 of the only 2 to serve the regime, (2nd pic), was at the heart of the plot. .
