Composing oneself in the Face of Death, part II.
This time it hit me. He was my favorite.
In fact, let me also say that my last post, the one about “I know,” was about him. I called him Papa Bear.
None of us knew in less than 24 hours he would go from okay to gone. • I had no idea what was happening when I went to work. I was assigned somewhere else. The daughter had called the front desk asking me to check on him and that the daughter was on her way — a seven and a half hour drive.
I ran to his room and stopped right outside the door. I did what I normally did. Knock twice. “Hey Papa Bear. It’s me. I’m here now.” I could barely compose myself. • Between tasks if I wasn’t busy in a room I was with him. I would sit and talk, and when his daughter got there I would still come in and talk. • I stayed an hour past my shift, clocked out, just talking with him and his daughter and the hospice nurse who happened to be my favorite on-call nurse. • I told him I loved him. I told him I was thankful for all the time we shared. I said I would see him again someday. He and I cried silently.
Papa Bear died an hour later. • #healthcare

Reposted from @plantifulfacts - Take this when sick or when needing a simple healthy boost, or if you want to make guests a fun but healthy drink! ⬇️ KEY LIME: Limes are highly alkalizing. The change from acidic to alkaline happens once your starts to metabolize it. So lime is alkalizing. It may have a high content of citric acid, but it is definitely overshadowed by the enormous amount of alkaline minerals like potassium, magnesium, and sodium. - GINGER: Ginger root is a super food that can do so much for the , including being an alkaline-forming food. Buy it fresh and juice it for optimum benefits. - DATE SUGAR: Date sugar comes from a different type of palm tree — the date palm — but not from the sap of the tree. Rather, it is a granulated form of the tree’s fruit, it’s literally ground-up dates. Because date sugar is simply ground whole dried fruit, it contains all the fruit’s nutrients — vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. - SPRING WATER: Natural spring, Reverse osmosis, or distilled are all good choices. Avoid tap water and alkaline water as its artificially made alkaline which is not natural and is not good for the bodies natural pH. Remember natural, natural, natural. Remember with water it's about purity. . . --- . 👁️ Stay woke my friends. . . #healthcare @fitnesskorner -
