Come & join us at the Old Operating Theatre for this group event this eve 6.30-8.30, which I’m looking forward to performing in! An Eventbrite ticket is required for entry & link to the event is in my bio. This event – held at the oldest, surviving operating theatre in Europe – will consist of an evening of sonic explorations and theatrical interventions. The conceptual framework is centred on multi-faceted notions of listening, which bring together many diverse practices and ideas through the lens of , cosmic and historical listening. As part of the event, the composer and sound artist Prof. Cathy Lane was invited to deliver a workshop that explored a selection of historical and contemporary text-based scores and two new performance scores were collectively created, which will be performed at this event. Other artists will present individual performances, which expand the concept of ‘cosmic, and historical listening’; to explore the nature of consciousness, disability and access, the medieval rack and the disembodied voice. The artist and writer Dr. Salome Voegelin – engaged in listening and hearing as a socio-political practice of sound – has been invited to deliver an improvised, performance lecture in which sonic and textual material will be used to stimulate and frame notions of ‘listening’ after which there will be a brief Q+A session. Featured Artists: Dr. Salome Voegelin, Prof. Cathy Lane, Tessa Brown, Annie Goliath, James Oberhelm, Kyle Austin Kruse, Avril Corroon, Portia Lee, Yi Ling Wu, Irene Adorni, Filip Haglund, James Graham, Ahren Warner #goldsmithsmfa2019
