I see and read a ton of research every week. It's great to see some peer reviewed material on the kettlebell that is actually transferable to the strength and conditioning, athletic performance, and rehabilitation arena.
Thanks for the find @perfectstridept @joelavapt

We are not fragile. Load your patients, empower them, and keep them moving (and swinging).

#perfectpearls- our weekly tradition to bring you the most up to date research.
For the most part, it has been mostly here-say that the #kettlebellswing is a great rehabilitative exercise for low back pain. Now there is some research to back this claim up.
The #researchshows that
1️⃣There is increased muscle activation of the low back, rectus abdominus, obliques and glutes- helping to create stiffness/tension around the spine.
2️⃣Promotes contraction/relaxation cycles that help pump metabolic waste from the area helping to decrease pain.
3️⃣There are decreased compressive loads on the spine as compared to Olympic lifts and traditional barbell lifts.
4️⃣The shearing at the spine is in the posterior to anterior direction which is opposite of what you see with deadlifts.
🔹Based on our experience, we know that the kettlebell swing does help patients overcome back pain. The decreased compressional forces on the body make this a safe alternative to barbell work, while building strength and tissue resilience of the core and low back.
🔹This may not be the case for all people. Those who have pain with shearing forces may not do well with the prescription of swings, regardless of what the research shows.
