Faith. What is faith? Verse 1 says “Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Verse 6 tells us that without faith we cannot please God. This whole chapter deals with the faith of his people. Through faith each of them performed mighty acts or were saved from death. Those who were persecuted and murdered still ended up being “saved from death”. They may have died on earth, but they are alive in Christ and out of Satan’s reach. Being a Christian and having faith in an invisible God is challenging but rewarding. You will be persecuted. But stay strong in the faith. You will be rewarded for it. : : : : : : : inaction

💥Often time, comfort and change are in DIRECT conflict with one another. Comfort dictates our right now needs & keeps us connected to a sense of safety and security, but it also hinders us from exploring other possibilities. Negative thoughts, rigidity, entitlement, pride, self-sabotage, fear, anxiety, uncertainty about the future creep in and take over, creating barriers in pursuit of an opportunity. This is the opposition. . . 💥Change is making preparation for the need of our future self. We may not have met this version of ourself yet, but perhaps we have dreamt of manifesting a dream, chasing after our destiny, working in the field of our passion, etc. & recognize that a shift is necessary to get us from dreaming to manifesting. Change recognizes that all living things must adapt, evolve, and ... otherwise, they will become corrupt in their thinking, feeling, & doing, resulting in a withering process and sometimes even death (of our dreams, hopes, aspirations, goals, emotions, will, determination, self-esteem, etc.) . . 💥Therefore the willingness to sacrifice, compromise, and step outside of our comfort zone are essential components in fulfilling the requirements of the opportunity that has been presented and defeating the opposition. . . #FaithInAction 💥💜

HANDS-ON LEARNING TITUS 2:1-8 _________________________________ My six-year-old son, Owen, was thrilled to receive a new board game. But after a half hour reading the rules, he was frustrated. He couldn’t quite figure out how it worked. It wasn’t until later, when a friend came over who already knew how to play, that Owen finally got to enjoy his present. _________________________________ Watching them play, I was reminded of how much easier it is to learn something new if you have an experienced teacher. When we’re learning, reading the instructions helps, but having a friend who can demonstrate makes a huge difference. _________________________________ The apostle Paul understood this too. Writing to Titus about how he could help his church grow in faith, Paul emphasized the value of experienced believers who could Christian faith. Of course teaching “sound doctrine” was important, but it didn’t just need to be talked about—it needed to be lived out. Paul wrote that older men and women ought to be self-controlled, kind, and loving (Titus 2:2–5). “In everything,” he said, “set them an example by doing what is good” (v. 7). _________________________________ I’m thankful for solid teaching, but I’m also thankful for the many people who have been hands-on teachers. They’ve shown me by their lives what it looks like to be a disciple of Christ and have made it easier for me to see how I can walk that path too. _________________________________ What lessons have you learned from those who have taught you about living for Jesus by their words and actions? What are others seeing as they view your faith in action? God, thank You for graciously giving us mentors who can show us by example how to live for You, and thank You for giving us Your Son, the only perfect of faith. #FaithInAction
