Hip mobility is so important not only for your hips, but also your knees, ankles and low back as well. Issues in these areas can often be attributed to issues at your hips - whether that be from a strength or mobility problem. @theprehabguys ・・・ 4 Way Hip Stretch [Improve Hip Mobility] . Which of the 4 do you need the most? . 🏋️‍♂️Poor Hip mobility is something I have dealt with my entire life, this has led me to cheat mobility from elsewhere in my body. Anyone that knows me knows I have a lot of low back mobility, likely secondary to my poor hip mobility. Having adequate hip mobility is crucial for the average joe, weekend warrior, or professional athlete. #hiphiphooray . 💪🏽I know for me the hardest part is finding time to perform mobility exercises on a daily basis. Here is a sequence of exercises you can efficiently perform to help restore your hip mobility! For all of these stretches all you need is an elevated surface, the higher the surface the more aggressive the stretch. . 1️⃣Hip Internal Rotation- this will likely be more of a deep hip stretch. Very different than what you would likely feel in your normal stretches. Don’t push into pain with this stretch. Contrary to popular belief, you can NOT stretch your pain away! 😆 2️⃣Hip External Rotation-Bring your body on the inside of your leg to allow for a hip external stretch. This is an elevated pigeon stretch which you should feel deep in the back of the hip. 3️⃣Hip Abduction-Rotate your body towards the stance limb to stretch the groin on the elevated leg. If your elevated knee gets irritated, allow your foot to dangle off the edge of the elevated surface, this’ll reduce the sheer force on the knee. 4️⃣Hip Extension-Easy transition to a hip flexor stretch. Lunge into the front leg, make sure to avoid the low back from arching. 🌿Hip Hip Hooray🌿 🌿10 weeks countdown has begun🌿 ... Today we saw our specialist consultant for Arabella’s hip and it’s finally good news. 2 and a half weeks ago when we had our first scan her hips was around 43°C, and yesterday at her scan her hips are 54°C, which means the brace is working. So we don’t need to change to the rhino brace at the moment! Unfortunately it was confirmed she has dysplasia in both hips but both are getting better! After having a shit time with her first scan it was nice being able to get some answers, and know where we are going and what the next steps are. We have one more scan in 2 weeks and then if all good again Arabella will be able to have some brace free time, well longer than 30 minutes a day. ... Hopefully the brace will be off by mid-October, and she will be all heeled. . . . #hiphiphooray
