It’s National Allotment Week and thought I would share how I came to be on this special plot of solitude. I spend as much free time on my Allotment and love every minute I spend there. I was lucky to get this plot, to coincide with me moving to a much smaller cottage and I could not take all my beloved my plants with me. So my family helped me move them up to the allotment and despite me falling downstairs in 2017, just as all this was taking place. The plants all survived the 8 months I could not be there. Family just kept an eye on it & so lucky to be here to keep enjoying. It’s at the point now where the Perennials and Shrubs are happy. The Wildflowers self seeding where they wish, adding interest and architecture. All flowers are providing for the Birds and Bees, just as I planned. Mini pond thriving, newly planted Hedgerow, Ornamental Trees and Hedgehogs are using too. But there is always something to do & that’s the best therapy. It was always going to be a Sanctuary for feeding all birds and wildlife and I would like to think I have achieved. The feeding area is now working so well and once Im watching from my shed at what Iv achieved with a little help from family, it feels so rewarding. The views from my Shed are very distracting, but the Birds and Bees get most of my attention. The quality therapy and mind healing I get from being in this retreat away from home is just magical. I come away totally distressed, but full of ideas for my next day up there. _bees_flowers_n_trees
