Musée des Arts décoratifs

The next edition of the @LoeweFoundation Craft Prize (2020) will take place in Paris at Musée des Arts Décoratifs (@madparis). Launched in 2016 by @Jonathan.Anderson to excellence in celebrate craftsmanship, the prize asks artisans to create objects of superior aesthetic value in a bid to compete for €50,000. Accepted until the end of October 2019, the submissions of up to 30 shortlisted artists will be the subject of an exhibition at Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, from which the Prize’s jury will select the winning piece. Olivier Gabet, member of the jury and director of Musée des Arts Décoratifs stated: “The museum perfectly mirrors the exemplary philosophy of this prize, set up by Loewe Creative Director Jonathan Anderson, who is himself pssionate about objets d’art and materials, most notably ceramics. This international prize will Shine the spotlight into the universal human value of the highest and most original forms of artisan craftsmanship.” The 2019 edition of the prize received over 2,500 submissions from 100 countries across the globe; potential candidates for this year’s edition are invited to study the guidelines and submit work at loewecraftprize.com. : designed by @K_Studio_gr, Athens hottest design firm, the @Perianthhotel (member of @Design_Hotels) has 38 sleek rooms and suites with stunning views of the Acropolis in a renovated 1930s Art Deco building. Curated work by contemporary Greek artists are on proud display inside, in an interior inspired by the Athenian modern movement: think terrazzo floors, marble furniture, slim black-metal frames, and clean wood surfaces. On the sixth floor, the penthouse apartment has a jacuzzi and a pool with a stunning view over Mount Lycabettus and the Acropolis. A quintessentially Greek option to visit the city.
