Check slytherinbeater08's Instagram I am soon excited to say that the Beauty Project has officially gone international! I am so proud to introduce you all to
Chantelle Tendo Chubon or as I get to call her my CC! She has been one of my best friends for about 6 years now and every year that passes I am more and more amazed at the woman she is. She is selfless, beautiful, kind, smart, and talented in so many ways. Chantelle is currently serving in Uganda in the Peace Corps so I was not able to photograph her myself but one of her friends did and incredible job! Please take a moment to read her answers to the questions we asked and soak in her beauty in the photos!
Q: What’s your favorite thing about yourself, physically and your favorite quality?
A: I would have to say that my favorite thing about myself is my hair and my eyes. My favorite quality would have to be my compassion and encouragement. I love people and I always want to see them happy and healthy and I always choose to put them first and love everyone and I think that makes me really special.
Q: At what age do you first remember noticing beauty standards?
A: I want to say that I was 6 or 7. I had started getting bullied for my weight and I began to realize that I was much heavier than other girls and because boys would make fun of me being bigger I knew I wasn’t meeting standards.
Q: Did you struggle with anything specific growing up?
A: I always struggled with my weight. People would make fun of me often and call me fat, which has really caused me to feel like I was less than I was and it obscured the way I saw myself. I listened to what they said which was that I was big and that made me ugly. That really tore down my self-esteem and it left me to have to be built back up.
